Individual + Couple’s Therapy
Based in Minneapolis with Telehealth options available in CA and TX
You might care a lot about your relationship and still feel like you’re missing the mark. Maybe you shut down, get defensive, overthink everything, or keep having the same fight no matter how hard you try to do things differently. I work with men in Minneapolis, MN, and through online therapy across Minnesota, California, and Texas who want to show up better in their relationships but aren’t sure how to get there.
Sometimes that work is individual, sometimes it includes couples therapy, and often it helps clarify what you want and how to reach for it more directly. We slow things down and make sense of what’s actually happening for you when things go sideways. There’s room for humor, honesty, and real conversation. Nothing is off limits, and you don’t have to filter yourself. The goal isn’t to turn you into someone you’re not, but to help you feel more confident, connected, and at ease in the relationships that matter most.

Types of Therapy
Therapist for men + relationships
Therapy with Men
I help men in Minneapolis, MN, and provide telehealth across Minnesota, California, and Texas to navigate emotional shutdown, self-criticism, and relationship challenges. Using an attachment-based, experiential approach, I support men in understanding their emotional patterns, reducing shame, and building stronger connections with themselves and others. Therapy with me is paced and practical, focused on helping men feel understood, grounded, and more in control without pressure or judgment.
Couples
For couples stuck in what feels like a never-ending cycle of the same arguments, feeling unseen, or underappreciated, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) offers a research-backed approach to understanding your unique interaction patterns. I help couples identify and shift these cycles into more positive and connecting ways of relating. I don’t take sides; instead, I support each partner in slowing down, noticing what’s happening beneath the conflict, and learning new ways to reach for each other. Through in-session practice, you and your partner will develop healthier communication, deepen emotional connection, and experience a stronger sense of love and understanding.
Family
Families often come to me looking for support with one or more members feeling distressed or divisive. Whether it’s constant bickering or lack of communication all together, I work to support healthy communication through supporting each family member to share their experience in a safe setting.
Sometimes this is only two or three members of one family and other times, more. Due to the complexity of family dynamics, I only see families in person, in the state of Minnesota.
Past client review:
“My husband and I worked with Amber for 2 years and she was phenomenal! She helped us through so much and I truly don’t think we would be where we are today without her. We communicate so much more and more effectively with the help of Amber and all of the tools she had given us. She truly listened and was able to pull things out of us that we didn’t even know was there. She is definitely in the right profession! We love her and are sad to end our journey with her- & we are only doing so because we are moving.”
